Head of the department- Larisa V. Solodovnikova, doctor of the highest qualification category, chief freelance specialist - expert in rheumatology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova.
The Rheumatology Department was founded on September 5, 1985 on the basis of the MRKB.
Currently, the rheumatology department is located on the third floor of a six-storey therapeutic building and is deployed for 55 beds.
The department provides specialized medical care to rheumatological patients.
Staff of the department:
- Doctors - 4 people;
- Nurses - 13 people, the highest category - 3 people, the first category - 1 person.
- Junior staff - 11 people.

The main directions in the provision of medical care:
- Provision of diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive care to patients with rheumatic diseases;
- Conducting laboratory diagnostics and differential diagnostics with other diseases;
- Provision of dispensary supervision of patients receiving pathogenetic therapy;
- Implementation of the hospital stage of rehabilitation of rheumatological patients, including patients who have undergone surgical interventions on the joints;
- Examination of temporary disability, selection of patients with rheumatic diseases for the provision of high-tech medical care;
- Development and implementation of measures to improve and introduce new methods of diagnosis, treatment, medical examination and prevention.
The department widely uses new, modern methods of treatment and diagnosis of rheumatological diseases: multicomponent therapy for rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, systemic vasculitis with the use of chemotherapeutic, genetically engineered biological drugs, efferent therapies and methods of orthopedic correction, and others.
In the department, the following types of studies are assigned and conducted on the basis of diagnostic departments of the State Medical Institution of the Republic of Moldova «MRCCB»:
- clinical blood test;
- immunological studies;
- biochemical research;
- x-ray examinations;
- computer tomography;
- magnetic resonance imaginggraphy, including small joints of the hands and feet;
- endoscopic examinations;
- VEM, EchoCG, ULTRASOUND;
- Daily monitoring of ECG, blood pressure.
Hospitalization to the department is carried out as planned daily, according to the hospitalization schedule.
List of diseases to be hospitalized in the rheumatology department:
- rheumatoid arthritis;
- ankylosing spondylitis (Bekhterev's disease) and other seronegative spondylopathies (psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis, Reiter's syndrome and disease);
- osteoarthritis with severe pain syndrome and secondary synovitis;
- systemic rheumatic diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic scleroderma, dermatomyositis, etc.);
- other rheumatic diseases of joints and periarticular tissues;
- microcrystalline arthritis, including gout;
- diseases requiring clarification of the diagnosis as rheumatic.
Indications for hospitalization:
- High activity of one of the above-mentioned rheumatic diseases.
- Exacerbation of the rheumatological profile of the disease against the background of complex therapy.
- Conducting planned courses of pulse therapy for rheumatological diseases using high doses of hormones and cytostatics, as well as using genetically engineered drugs.
- Routine examination according to the approved scheme before surgical treatment of heart disease in persons with chronic heart failure requiring treatment in a hospital.
- Selection of doses of drugs used for basic therapy in patients with rheumatic diseases.
