The medical and genetic consultation is located: the consultative and polyclinic department and the department of antenatal fetal protection on the first floor, the medical and genetic laboratory department on the second floor of the Perinatal Center of the State Medical Institution of the Republic of Moldova "Mordovia Republican Central Clinical Hospital".
The main objectives of the MGK are: prevention of congenital and hereditary diseases, organization and conduct of prenatal diagnosis of child development disorders, high risk of premature birth, preeclampsia and fetal growth retardation, neonatal screening and extended neonatal screening of newborns for hereditary diseases, invasive prenatal diagnosis of pregnant women at high risk for fetal chromosomal pathology, referral of families and patients with complex cases of pathology to the Federal Medical and Genetic Center to clarify the diagnosis and genetic counseling, dispensary observation of families with hereditary pathology, diet therapy of patients with phenylketonuria, identification of families burdened with hereditary and congenital pathology, monitoring of congenital malformations, promotion of medical and genetic knowledge among the population of the Republic of Mordovia.
