The Center of Professional Pathology of the Republic of Mordovia was opened in 1992 on the basis of the State Medical Institution of the Republic of Mordovia "Republican Hospital No. 5". Since 2014, the Center has been operating on the basis of the State Medical Institution of the Republic of Mordovia, the Mordovian Republican Central Clinical Hospital, which has a license to provide medical care, including work and services by type of activity, Occupational pathology, Examination of the connection of the disease with the profession, Examination professional fitness», «Preliminary and periodic medical examinations». The bed capacity of the department is 10 beds designed for routine hospitalization for examination and treatment of patients with acute and chronic occupational diseases.

The main activities of the Center of Professional Pathology:
- provision of specialized medical care to patients suffering from occupational diseases, including patients with a preliminary diagnosis of occupational disease and suspicion of these conditions, as well as patients engaged in work with harmful production factors;
- examination of professional suitability;
- examination of the connection of the disease with the profession;
- examination of temporary disability;
- conducting preliminary and periodic medical examinations of persons engaged in work with harmful production factors;
- provision of advisory, methodological and organizational assistance to medical workers of other medical organizations on issues of occupational pathology;
- monitoring of the health status of patients with an established diagnosis of occupational disease and occupational poisoning and patients engaged in work with harmful production factors;
- control over the conduct of preliminary and periodic medical examinations by medical organizations, as well as the implementation of preventive, health and rehabilitation measures based on the results of these examinations;
- implementation of information systems, creation and maintenance of a database on occupational morbidity;
